Showing up for others isn’t as important as showing up for yourself
We forget that we are just as if not more important than the others whose responsibilities we carry.
We forget to show up for ourselves everyday, until showing up for others feels like a chore
We forget that our primary responsibility is to ourselves
We forget that unless we convince ourselves of our worth, no one else will see us as worthy
And we forget that someone else’s definition doesn’t decide our worth
But because we diminish our worth, others do too.
Showing up everyday conditions our brain to trust in ourselves, to put ourselves first
Because place the oxygen mask over your face before helping others applies in life much more than it applies in the air.
